Our Philosophy

We believe that a safe environment is instrumental in facilitating child growth and development.  Only once a child is safe and their basic needs are met, can learning begin. Safety in this program encompasses both mental and physical safety. All precautions will be made to keep children physically safe and each child will be respected and supported by myself and my staff. We encourage all families to regularly communicate their child’s needs with us as well as voice any concerns or questions that they may have. 

As early childhood educators, we realize and understand that each child learns in a different way. This simple fact opens the door to a multitude of learning experiences. We strongly believe that children can learn academic concepts through daily routines and unique teaching moments.  This means that even though a planned curriculum is in place each week, we may forgo what is on paper and instead, celebrate the idea that learning can occur in any place at any time.  Young children aren’t made to sit still; rather they excel when learning opportunities are presented through multiple experiences and daily routines.

Although we may be your child’s teacher in the classroom, you will always be their first and most important teacher.  We hope that you will remember how important it is for us to work together to support your child.  Each setting, both at home and in our program, provides us with different insights into your child’s abilities and strengths.  We encourage you to always communicate openly and honestly with us in order to ensure that we can provide the best possible learning environment for your most treasured gift.
